12th May 2010 - Atlantic Centre for Atomistic Modelling (ACAM) Public Lecture Series in Physics - Quantum Innovation

This lecture is part of the Atlantic Centre for Atomistic Modelling at UCD public lecture series in Physics. The talks are open to the general public and secondary school students with an interest in Physics. Places can be reserved in advance by emailing Ms Gillian Davis, the ACAM coordinator at acam@ucd.ie

Professor Gregory D. Scholes from the Department of Chemistry, Institute for Optical Sciences and Centre for Quantum Information and Quantum Control, University of Toronto, will deliver the talk entitled "Compostable solar cells and sprouting quantum computers".

Professor Daniel Lidar from the Department of Chemistry and Electrical Engineering, and Center for Quantum Information Science and Technology (CQIST), University of Southern California, Los Angeles, will deliver a talk entitled "Quantum Computers and Decoherence: Exorcising the Demon from the Machine".
