28 - 29 June 2010 - Building Collaborative Networks for Innovation – The InterTradeIreland 2010 Innovation Conference
The theme of this 2-day conference is Building Collaborative Networks for Innovation and its broad objective is to provide a view from leading experts and stakeholders on the benefits and successes of collaborative networks as drivers and facilitators of innovation in Ireland for the development of a knowledge economy.
Guest Speaker: Walter W. Powell, Professor of Education and affiliated Professor of Sociology, Organisational Behaviour, Management Science, and Communication at Stanford University, a renowned expert in the area of networks, will be the guest speaker at both days of the conference.
Day 1: Day 1 of the conference will focus on the theme of Building Collaborative Networks for Innovation in a Knowledge Economy blending contemporary thinking on collaborative networks with lessons from key stakeholders. Speakers from key funding agencies, the venture capitalist community, along with speakers from industry, SMEs and University start-ups, covering both the Life Sciences and ICT sectors will be involved.
Day 2: Day 2 of the conference will focus on Academic Reflections and Future Challenges and will bring together researchers from Ireland and internationally, from different disciplines, who will explore and examine current research on innovation networks. This will assist in strengthening innovation studies in Ireland and contribute of relevant strategy and policy formation and innovation practice. Day 2 will also include a panel discussion on multinational enterprises in innovation networks.
