The Future of Sustainability in Buildings: Brian O'Brien, Partner in Solearth Ecological Architecture and Chair of the Living Building Institute of Ireland

Sustainable architecture is at a crossroads. Obsessed with Co2 to the exclusion of water, health, materials and food, mired in lack of precision and definition and being left behind by advances in other fields (from cradle to cradle thinking in material and product design to biomimicry), its time to raise the game. Architecture must seek new models, and rewrite its code to operate in the operating system that's just outside. Into this space comes the Living Building challenge. Is this the future of green design? This seminar is being held in conjunction with the TCD-UCD Innovation Alliance Public Lecture Series.
