Thursday 7 October – Transforming Ireland Seminar Series #18

Meeting the Challenge of Low Energy Lighting by 2020 Liam Kelly, Managing Director Nualight

Nualight was founded to bring new lighting technology to the world's retailers. 20% of the global electricity supply is used to generate lighting, and food retailers are one of the highest commercial users of lighting. Compact fluorescent bulbs are at best an interim solution. Nualight has designed solid state lighting solutions which are cost effective, make displayed products look better and reduce both energy consumption and maintenance. These products are now being shipped in volume to more than 20 countries. In this presentation we will outline Nualight's vision for transforming retail lighting, and also consider briefly global energy requirements across all lighting sectors. This seminar is being held in conjunction with the TCD-UCD Innovation Alliance Public Lecture Series.
