Globe Forum –  Early Stage Researchers Challenge

An ITLG Silicon Valley Comes to Ireland 2010 event was hosted by the TCD-UCD Innovation Academy on Wednesday November 15th last in the Innovation Academy, Foster Place.

The well attended session included a discussion on ‘Monetising Disruptive Innovation’ by Dr Craig Barrett, Chairman Irish Technology Leadership Group and former Chairman of Intel  and a discussion on the ‘The importance of IP to Start-up Companies’ by John Ryan, Co-founder, Macrovision Corporation while Ed Colligan, former CEO of Palm, Inc. lead a discussion on ‘Starting Companies in Silicon Valley’. 

The Question & Answer session was moderated by TCD’s Professor Linda Doyle, Director of the Centre for Telecommunications Value-Chain Research (CTVR).

Commenting on the success of the event, Professor Veronica Campbell, Dean of Graduate Studies, Trinity College said “The event was inspirational to our postgraduate students who are keen to learn of the issues relevant to innovation and intellectual property in commercial ventures. The cooperation of ITLG and the Innovation Academy will mould graduates with assured talent in the innovation process”.
